How to Whiten on the Go

Whether you enjoy travelling for pleasure or your job requires you to be up in the air a lot of the time, it can be hard to keep up with your normal routines while in a hotel room and not in the comfort of your own home. With things like whitening your teeth, it can seem like as soon as you miss one day, the stains start to come back and you have to start the process all over again. If you’re worried that you’re falling behind on your whitening routine because of travel, try these 3 tips to help you whiten on the go.

  1. Whitening Toothpaste

Available in travel sizes, whitening toothpaste is pretty much your best friend. Not only can you store it in your carry-on, but you can also squeeze it in your purse or briefcase, just in case you want to go to the restroom and brush your teeth after meals. Composed of chemical components that are designed to break down surface stains caused by things such as coffee, tea, and soda, whitening toothpastes are a great way to maintain your healthy smile while on the go.

  1. Whitening Pen

Whitening pens are especially useful if you’ve recently undergone a laser whitening treatment or if you have custom bleaching trays made by your dentist. Found at most drug stores, whitening pens contain similar chemicals as whitening toothpastes, but without the hassle of having to brush. Simply click the bottom of the pen until some clear gel comes up through the brush and slowly paint onto your teeth. Depending on the brand and strength of the gel, you will have to leave it on your teeth for a few minutes— read the packaging to get the exact time to wait.

  1. Gum

Yes, it may sound ridiculous, but gum is actually more valuable than just to blow bubbles with— however, make sure you’re only using the sugar-free kind. Because gum increases the production of saliva, it helps to break down small surface stains that were caused from food and beverages. Plus, it’s a great way to cover up that onion bagel you had at lunch.

Traveling doesn’t have to cause you to get out of the habit of all of your routines. From whitening toothpastes to chewing sugarfree gum, these three things will help you maintain your white smile.
