The Health Benefits of The Invisalign® System
Crowded teeth can make it hard to brush and floss well. Then it’s easier for plaque, tartar, and harmful bacterial to build up – and down the line, this can lead to tooth decay and gum disease1, 2 Your crowded teeth can also get worse over time.
When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.1,2 Doctors use a percentage to describe overbites, and 5 to 25 percent is ideal.3
An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.1, 2
A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line.1 This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.2
Gap teeth can create pockets between your teeth and gums where food can get stuck. It can make your gums tender and sore and even lead to gum disease.
An open bite can make it hard to chew or difficult to bite into some common foods, like apples.1-3

What Is Invisalign®?
Having a proper bite and straight teeth is one of the most important steps in preserving your teeth. Crooked teeth trap food in hard to reach areas. Incorrect bite increases the friction between your top and bottom teeth, potentially causing cracks and fractures. Invisalign® is a non-metal approach for straightening your teeth and to help you achieve a more healthy, attractive smile. These almost invisible aligners offered at Soft Touch Dentistry in Newton and Brighton, MA, are removable as to allow for brushing and flossing during treatment, as well as to allow for the greatest level of patient comfort.
How Does Invisalign® Work?
Invisalign® takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for only you. The trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place. Invisalign® does not use metal brackets and there are no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners every two weeks until your treatment is complete. Best of all, most people will never realize you’re straightening your teeth.
Why Should I Consider Invisalign® Instead Of Braces To Straighten My Teeth?

What Should I Expect During My Tooth Implant Procedure?
Metal dental braces have long been used as a way of straightening the alignment of the teeth with the use of metal, or sometimes ceramic, brackets and wires in order to pressure the teeth in the right contour. Dr. Bidabadi will examine you first to see whether you are a candidate for the traditional metal braces.
Unlike traditional braces,
- Invisalign® trays are easily removable by the patient.
- This allows for easier cleaning and the removal of food from in between your teeth hence preventing tooth decay.
- Patients with clear braces can easily enjoy foods such as popcorn that is off-limits for those wearing traditional metal braces.
- Invisalign® uses clear plastic and looks natural throughout the entire straightening process without using wires and brackets. While barely noticeable to others, you can be comfortable knowing that you can easily remove the tray for a special occasion.
- Invisalign® treatment is often more accommodating to busy schedules with less frequent dental visits. You can expect to visit Dr. Bidabadi only every six weeks.
Are Clear Braces As Effective As Traditional Braces?
At Soft Touch Dentistry in Brighton and Newton, MA, Dr. Bidabadi is excellently trained and experienced with Invisalign® treatments. She will perform precise calibrations of your mouth and teeth to ensure that the clear brace aligners are fitted comfortably, if not perfectly. Dr. Bidabadi will take time to discuss and examine carefully your dental situation and goals to yield results as effective as those obtained through traditional braces. During your initial consultation, Dr. Bidabadi will determine whether you are a candidate.
Excellent Job Cleaning My Teeth
“I have been going to Dr. Bidabadi for about 2 years now and they are not only the nicest staff, but they do an excellent job cleaning my teeth and making me feel comfortable. I had my first cavity ever last year and was freaking out like a baby when I saw the Novocaine needle, but the dentist made it a relaxing, pain free experience. They explained each step and even held my hand when I was nervous. I even got to see before and after shots of my tooth after the procedure was done!"
Sara F., | Boston, MA
Terrific – Friendly, Helpful, And Skilled
“My husband and I have been going to Dr. Bidabadi for over 10 years. She is the best! She will encourage you to take steps to improve both the health and appearance of your teeth, but is never overly aggressive or sales-y about either. Her staff is also terrific – friendly, helpful, and skilled. I hope that Dr. Bidabadi is in practice for many, many more years!"
Courtney S., | Boston, MA
BY FAR The Best I’ve Ever Had
“ have an EXTREME hatred for dentists. I usually wish bad things upon them (dramatized for effect, of course) … until I met Dr. Bidabadi. She is wonderful. Beyond amazing. My hero. She is patient with annoying people like me who have panic attacks over cavity fillings (no joke). I have been to many dentists over the years and she is BY FAR the best I’ve ever had."
Jamie J., Jamaica Plain., | Boston, MA
Dr. Bidabadi Went Above And Beyond
“Once again, Dr. Bidabadi went above and beyond to provide the best dental care. I have been her patient for 15 years and even though I live 35 miles away, I continue to see her and her staff. Went yesterday for quick appointment and when she discovered a problem in another tooth, she worked through her lunch hour to treat me so that I wouldn't have to make a separate long trip. I trust Dr. B and her practice 100%. Wish she would move north of Boston!"
