Why You Should Consider Invisalign®

It is easy to understand why you might be putting off getting metal braces for crooked teeth, but not to worry – Invisalign® may be the perfect solution for you!

What is Invisalign?

You probably know at least one person who has used Invisalign to straighten their teeth, but you may only know because they told you. It is close to impossible to tell if someone is wearing an Invisalign aligner. They are clear, plastic, nearly invisible trays that fit over your teeth. The trays gently and gradually move teeth, and about every 2 weeks or so you’ll get a new tray that is just a little bit different. You will continue to get new trays until your teeth are moved into their optimum position.

Invisalign aligners are effective and hard to see, but they have even more benefits. You can still enjoy your favorite food and drinks; all you have to do is remove your aligner first. They are more comfortable than metal braces – if you’ve had metal braces, you may remember brackets that irritate cheeks, wires that hurt, and the pain you suffer after a visit to the orthodontist for tightening. It is also much easier to take care of teeth with Invisalign aligners than it is with metal braces; you just take out the tray when it is time to brush and floss instead of trying to clean around wires and brackets. And, Invisalign doesn’t take any longer than metal braces do to straighten teeth – in fact, in many cases it takes less time, and you may see results in as little as 6 months.

Is it time to take care of those crooked teeth? Metal braces are no longer the only option. The staff at Soft Touch Dentistry can help you decide if Invisalign is right for you. Call the Brighton office at (617) 782-9250 or the Newton office at (617) 332-8146 for an Invisalign consultation today!
